Proof-reading and Editing Services
This service is available as an ad hoc service, or as an optional extra with any translation project.
During the proof-reading process, particular attention will be given to typos and grammatical errors, style consistency, formatting, and term accuracy - with constant reference to the original document.
We’re happy to proof-read any document, even if we didn’t translate it for you. All our proof-readers are linguists with mother tongue command of the target language and fluency in the source language.
We strongly recommend proof-reading as part of your translation process, to verify content, localised style and clarity. And to ensure consistency with your in-house style and terminology, we’ll ask for reference materials such as previous translations, style guides and glossaries.
We proof-read and edit websites, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, memos, business plans, novels, short stories, poems, and other professional documents. Traduspanish also proof-reads academic documents and essays.
We are dedicated to offering specialised proofreading and copy-editing services at competitive prices to college and university students of undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The charges to proof-read a translation are based on the language involved, the number of words, the technical difficulty of the subject matter and the urgency with which the project is required. A combined project of translation followed by a process of proof-reading usually costs approximately 30% more than a project involving translation alone.
Traduspanish accepts manuscripts as Microsoft Word documents (preferred) or as rich text format (RTF) or text files. Once we receive your manuscript, we use a tool built into Microsoft Word called 'Track Changes' to edit your document. This feature is present in all Microsoft Word versions on the 'Tools' menu.
After we edit your text, you will get a finished document back that shows you the changes we suggest. If you open your finished document in Microsoft Word, you will have the option of accepting or rejecting each change that we have suggested.
Editors focus on correcting spelling, grammar, usage and punctuation errors. They will change improper language and rephrase sentences that sound awkward or unnatural.
By using our professional editing services, you can be sure that your text will be polished and ready for submission to your publication of choice at a very reasonable price.
